The 3 Dog Night

As the group of 9 rolled out from the shop Thunder's last words - directed at the Zulu - should have given me comfort. "It won't be a hard ride", he said. But Zulu just stared right through him, like a hot steak knife through butter. I should have turned around and gone straight home then and there.

As the sun began to set in the west we got the green on the Calliope River lights and forged our way across the flats unhindered at a cracking pace. As we neared Yarwun the Zulu spearheaded the first attack on good sense by 'leaning out the mixture' and like a blur we make the turn off in no time. Dog rolls saw us across the paddock, but the hammer dropped at the top of Dog Hill with Slasher and Zulu making a fierce breakaway. After a brief spell at the back Thunder valiantly closed the gap on the terrible twosome with an epic display of tenacity akin to your Auntie's Terrier who just won't let go of your trousers.

Battered and bruised we made it to River Ranch where the Dominator launched up the hill like a scalded cat. I didn't see the dog chasing him but it must have been huge!

As we barrelled down the highway towards home a familiar fearsome bark was heard approaching from the bushes only to be cut short by the sound of Hyundai on fur. WHAM!!! We couldn't find the dog, but the poor girl driving the car was a little shaken. She did well in my opinion....

Slasher then decided he didn't need the small chain ring any more and completed Haddock and the reamainder of the ride in the 53. Wow, I bet he's sore today! Great to see Fabio back on the road, but ride of the night goes to the Dominator. Great work Dom.

Ave speed was a blistering 36.4
