Adopted Rider Profile - Lewis Marshall

1. What bike do you ride?
Specialized SL2 S-Works Tarmac supplied by Tuckers (had to put that in Thunder)
2. What would be your dream bike?
The above with the new electronic shifting system or the same Specialized S-Works Transition TT bike Fabian Cancellara rides (not yours Fabio) check the bike out in cyclingnews web site.
3. What's your day job?
Environmental Protection Agency, Project Manager (semi retired)
4. What's your favourite ride?
When I can, the Wednesday night ride with you Gladstone legends. I have done it twice and it has everything that a good training ride should have and the pace that is set from the start to the finish is great (just ask Deano as he nearly had a heart attack before we reached the turn off to Yarwun). Your training rides are good “no posing/social rides like most of the Rocky rides are”. I believe you guys and girls will kick ass in Rock-Vegas when the race season begins, if what I have seen on your training rides so far!
5. Most memorable biking experience?
I have only been riding the road since I came to Rocky last year as I lived at Longreach and it is very hard to bunny hop the cattle grids out there on a roadie, so I mostly rode mountain bikes and did the cross country riding thing. Winning the Charters to Townsville, Bob Campbell Memorial handicap race and winning two silver and one bronze medal at the Maryborough Masters last year are my most memorable experiences so far.
6. Least memorable biking experience?
Crashing out, when in a winning position at the Tour de Tablelands last year. Lesson learnt “do not get to close to someone’s rear wheel when they do not want to lead out”. Last thing I remember was cart wheeling into the rain forest!
7. Bike rider you admire the most?
“Thunder” as he is the only rider I have met who can be on the limit and still be mouthing off! Also Stewart O’Grady as he is tough as nails and his win in the Paris Roubaix was unreal and he has done everything in cycling without the big head a lot of pros have. I hope to meet him at the next years Tour Down Under.
