Wow. After 9 days away, I've finally returned from the adventure capital of the world - Queenstown New Zealand. The weather was not too kind at the beginning of the week, rain and max temperatures of 11. Luckily our conference soaked up most of the bad weather and when we finished on Wednesday the sun had come out.
After the Casino Royale Dinner on Wednesday nite, it was time for my organised MTB ride with Fat Tyre Adventures. My "tour guide" was Greg - and he is a great guy. I can say this because anyone who has seen me ride a MTB bike knows that I make a better roadie and Greg was very patient with me!! I was lucky enough that our 3hrs was one-on-one and Greg was full of some pretty good tips and advice. The landscape was brilliant - dirt road, around lakes, cow tracks, downhill, single track, 4WD tracks and a small bit of bitumen road.
I had an absolutely fantastic time and returned to the hotel completely buggered - probably from spending more time pushing the MTB bike up the hills than the actual riding!! If you're ever in Queenstown and have the opportunity, hook up with Greg. http://www.fat-tyre.co.nz/
Oh, our business coach Scott had organised to do a downhill ride on the Friday (with a different company) - I saw him Saturday at the airport on crutches and with a broken ankle. I've never been so grateful for being in one piece!!!
