The following information gives
details about the sign-on location and adverse weather contingency plans. Please
read it carefully and pass the details on where necessary. Racing will commence
at the usual time - 2 pm to 2.15 pm.
Nominations will be taken at
the start / finish venue, which is about 750 metres along the Gladstone / Monto
road from the Dawson Highway intersection. Riders should park clear of the
actual finish line and area leading in to the finish line. As there are
no toilet facilities on hand, plan your trip to include a stop in Calliope at
the shopping centre, servo or public facilities on the way through
Calliope. The start line is about 4km west from the town.
Mick Newell has confirmed the
course is 14.6km out / 14.6km back, making 29.2km for D & E grades and
58.4km for A, B and C Grades.
In the event of adverse weather conditions, a
decision about racing will be made as close as possible to 11 am, using
information available from BOM weather radar images, and this will be posted on
the website.
