The Speed Concept 7.5 (2014)

Trek Speed Concept 7.5 - In store
Just landed in the shop, or should we say just flew in. These bikes look fast standing still...on a dark night. Even if it's not your kind of bike they have to be seen to be believed, so next time your in the shop check them out. That is of course if they haven't raced out.
The Trek Speed Concept 7.5 might not be the 'Fastest Bike on the Planet,' we'll reserve that for it's more highly specced cousin - the 9 Series; but it could well be the Planet's best speed/dollar bike. At $4499rrp, they present amazing value for money.

The New Speed Concept

Speed Concept 9 Series has opened up its lead. It features cleaner, more complete integration, even better performance at low yaw angles, and it's nearly a pound lighter.
  1. A complete aero system

Whole-bike aero approach integrates frame, rider, brakes, cabling, electronics, and storage to dramatically reduce drag and shave seconds.

  2. Easy build, easy travel

Speed Concept has the largest range of adjustability of any elite tri bike, plus fast assembly and easy adjustment that makes travel easy.

  3. Fastest bike on the planet

We've increased stiffness and reduced weight on our most aerodynamic frame ever, to give you every possible advantage on the course.

  4. Project One customization

Don't settle for anyone else's bike. Spec the components, fit, and styling you desire, and we'll build a Project One Speed Concept just for you.

The 2012 Tannum Sands Triathlon Wrap-up

2012 tannum tri prize img
Lloyd was all smiles receiving his new Trek Speed Concept from Matt of M1 Cycles.

"Couldn't go to a better person, makes supporting this event all worth it," Matt said. Lloyd punched the air when his number was drawn out at the prize draw on Millenium Esplanade after the 2012 Tannum Sands Triathlon. Matt helped Lloyd out with a Fit Kit as well, to get the best from his new ride. Lloyd reckons his new Speed Concept will go better than his old $200 'clunker'.
Congrats to all 180 competitors who took part. Local athletes Ben Wriede and Lee-Anne Hellberg, both riding Trek bikes in the bike leg, took out the Men's and Women's races respectively.
Thanks also to all family, friends, supporters, and volunteers. Organisers Wayne - Frenchville Frogs, Doug, Mark, Gert and Jon did a fantastic job; the event ran smoothly in perfect weather.

The Tour of Bright

Apologies for the delay in getting the results and photos up on the blog for the Tour of Bright.  Most people in M1 land would know by now that both SpyCat and LG finished the 2012 road season with awesome rides at the Tour.

It was a clean sweep in C grade women for SpyCat, with victory in the two road races and time trial.  SpyCat will return to M1 land in the new year with an awesome looking trophy and a jersey or two too match!

In masters 3/4, LG had a tough field of 69 string bean hill climbers to race against.  LG proved to be Mr Consistency finishing 16th overall after the three tough stages.  LG walks away from the Tour with some of the best looking calves I've seen!

Both riders have secured starting positions in the 2013 Tour - an event that is selling out within minutes of registrations opening.

Speed Concept

Treks Speed Concept is best in class, not to mention the world fastest time trial bike and its easy to see why, Watch the below video where Linsey Corbin designs her very own project one Speed Concept with her personal touches. It never fails too amaze me with the amount professionalism and attention to detail this beautiful company excels in. There work is clean, accurate and has the most advanced technology, with features within the speed concept like KVF (kamtail virtual foil) a revolutionized tube shape which gives the bike not only a sleek looking design but greater speed and less aerodynamic drag making race day wins easier and effortless.  Trek Bicycles have a range of Time Trial / Triathlon bikes weather it be Tri specific or road trek cover it all too suit your budget check out there site today too learn more about the features speed concept has too offer and why you should consider the Speed Concept as your next dream ride.

The bike does make a difference, anyone who says it doesn't has a mindset of there own, comparing two riders with the same profile (weight, strength, etc.) it is the bike that separates one rider from another.
