Vincenzo Nibali | 2015 Il Lombardia Descent

So you reckon you're pretty okay at descending on a bike....

....we think you better think again.

If you haven't seen this video from the 2015 Il Lombardia, of Vincenzo Nibali's victory creating descent, and you want a descent 'Masterclass' in what it takes out-descend your opponents out of contention; it's a MUST-SEE.

The Pro Peleton is always a better spectacle thanks to the Italians.

Bravo Nibali

Trek Domane WSD

We know there's one very happy Big Fish getting around the roads of the Gladstone Region, happiness he can feel in the seat of his pants. He is just one of the latest to get on board a Domane. Ask anyone who has ridden the Domane, they'll tell you it's the best bike they've ridden - even Fabian Cancellara won't ride anything else.

Trek Domane - just like Fabian.

Don't believe us, and everyone else? Come in and try it for yourself, we've got demo bikes in the shop for you to try. Do yourself (and your derriere) a favour, and get on a Trek Domane, from $1799rrp..

The Tour is half way and so is the Trek 'Ride to Win Sale'

It's the best time of the year to be watching cycling on TV, so most of us have been watching Le Tour from our couches in the middle of the night. Don't forget to make some time to get out on the bike too.
Of course, if you were thinking about a new ride it's also one of the best times of the year to get a new Trek from M1, with some incredible saving on selected Trek models. Come in and talk 'tour' at M1 Cycles today.

The Rumour

Rumour has it that this man, aka Bloomers, made a return the M1 Bunch on the weekend. Apparently he was there at the carpark at the start of the ride and he was there for a brew at Craig's, though in his tracky-dacks. Not sure what happened in between, but....rumour has it.. he never made it out of the carpark; the obligatory flattie. At least tradition is being upheld, Bloomers is known to have a flattie or three.
I've heard of the no-lights-no-ride policy, but this is new; "no-air-in-tyre-no-ride."

The 2014 Trek Madone

Recently, Trek released the new improved 2014 Madone onto the market. It seems subtle changes make a huge difference. Bicycling.com have already got their hands on one of these bikes, which sort of, tells you, there's something special about these bikes; and have reviewed it here...

Tous pour l'un - All for One

Nobody wins alone in the pro peloton. In the world's biggest race, it's nine men riding for one, nine men giving all they've got for the slim chance that one of them will ascend the podium. The riders of RadioShack Leopard Trek reveal the uniquely strong bond that will power them through the toughest stages in cycling, all for one, one for all

The Win... and the Maillot Jaune!!

Simon Gerrans wins, first TDF stage win for Orica Green Edge.
Gerro, you bloody little beauty.
Video to go is here...

Move forward a day and Simon is now the first Australian Team rider to wear the TDF Maillot Jaune.. The story is here...

The Hundredth Edition

We all know the 100th Edition of the Grand Boucle is underway in France, which has everybody, at least, just a little bit interested in cycling for the next 3 weeks. So we asked our resident Frenchman his tips for Le Tour de France.
"1st will be Froome, zat iz eeezy, then Voeckler and Roelandts." Thanks Will.
Poor old Roelandts found out he had a broken rib yesterday, just before the start of Stage 1.

The 2014 Trek Madone - We have the video!!

Hot from the editing room is the video of the latest version of the Trek Madone. 2014 sees Trek breaking now ground with an even lighter fuselage - "Feather Bending" at 725grams. Other improvements include better braking and ride compliance. Simply; Lighter and Faster....Who would have thought that possible from the winningest road bike on the planet.

The Sunday Sessions

Well the Sunday roadie ride started out exactly the same as the Saturday morning ride - a flattie within 1k of leaving the start.  Snapper thought he was at the Nitro Circus try outs and was jumping all over the road to avoid the hole.... or maybe he was just  being mindful of his nice new steed and didn't want any first week bingles??

Croz was in charge of the flat tyre change - no instructions needed today Caro!  Might I say though that I think the instructions are a mighty good idea for newbie riders (and those that don't ride with their own mechanics) however, you may want to leave out the "squeal like a girl" part when you use the gas cylinder - that was a little embarrassing Croz!!

Unfortunately for us, there was no coffee shop to pull up at in Goondoon Street at 5:30am so we had to change the flat and ride on.  I can honestly tell you that I was looking around pretty darn hard for that coffee shop too.
